Ace Hardware

Ace Hardware in Drew is a neighborhood store where homeowners and weekend fixers come to find the everyday basics that keep a house running. Shelves line up with paints, fasteners, garden supplies and simple tools, all the things people turn to when a shelf needs anchoring, a leaky faucet won’t stop dripping, or a backyard project gets underway. Someone passing through Drew can stop in to pick up a missing hinge, a roll of duct tape, or a pack of lightbulbs they forgot at home, and even if they just need a quick refill on something small, the front counter usually has someone in work shirts ready to hand over a bag and give a word and a nod. People often swing by on a midweek morning or after dinner on a weekend, when chores pile up and the car is already in the driveway. Some are regulars who know exactly which aisle to head for, while others walk in unsure and end up walking the length of the store twice. The best way to tell if this Ace Hardware fits your rhythm is to see how the place feels when you walk in—whether you notice the scent of sawdust in the wood section, the way flashlights are grouped near batteries, or if the registers have a few loyalty punch cards tucked into a dish. There’s no reason to expect anything more than reliable help and the kind of aisles where you can move slow without holding anyone up.
