Stagg Elementary School

Excel Academy of Englewood stands as a dedicated learning environment for students from kindergarten through eighth grade in the New Auburn neighborhood of Chicago. This tuition free public charter school intentionally serves families seeking an academically rigorous experience grounded in high expectations for both achievement and character development. Students benefit from a structured, supportive setting where certified instructors use research based curricula, incorporate daily enrichment activities, and maintain regular communication with parents to foster independence and confidence. The program emphasizes personalized learning paths, technology integration through project based lessons, and dedicated time each day for social emotional growth alongside core subjects. Academics are demanding by design, preparing graduation ready students who thrive in college and beyond. While the curriculum follows state standards and includes standard assessment testing, parents often appreciate the additional focus on leadership cultivation and community service projects woven throughout the school year. The school actively partners with local organizations to provide after school tutoring and family support resources. As a neighborhood institution, it operates with the clarity of a school facility purpose built to meet the rigorous demands of early adolescence education in an urban setting. Families relocate within the district specifically to access this school's academic program while service orientation remains consistently professional and mission driven. Enrollment is open annually through an application process requiring academic records and family interviews and families seeking admission often weigh instructional approach and campus safety measures during these decisions.
