Contract USA13 days ago

Omega Technical Services is seeking an experienced Designer to support Idaho National Laboratory's Materials and Fuels Complex. The Designer must translate engineering requirements into detailed drawings, 3D parametric models, assemblies, and technical documentation supporting fabrication and installation. Key duties include developing 2D drawings and 3D models, preparing drawings that define geometry, interfaces, materials, finishes, processes, tolerances, and inspection requirements. The role requires proficiency in PTC Creo and applied geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009 standards. Candidates must evaluate tolerance accumulation and fit at part and assembly interfaces to identify potential fabrication or assembly issues. Essential skills include applying parametric modeling practices with fully constrained sketches, stable design intent, and organized assembly structures. Independent verification of drawings for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and compliance with standards is required. The position involves maintaining drawing and model integrity through document and revision control. Work is performed remotely with occasional onsite travel to the Materials and Fuels Complex as needed. The role is contingent upon contract award and project funding. Candidates with mechanical, electrical, or multidisciplinary design backgrounds who meet the geometric dimensioning and tolerancing qualifications are encouraged to apply. The position offers an estimated pay range of USD $120,000.00 to USD $150,000.00 annually.
