Engineering Manager (Remote - UK)

The position is for an Engineering Manager at Altus Group, a company building AWS-native platforms used globally. You will lead a team of engineers, fostering an inclusive and psychologically safe environment where individuals feel supported and accountable. Your role includes hiring, onboarding, coaching, and conducting performance discussions with empathy and clarity. You will help engineers grow through regular one-on-one meetings, feedback, and clear development plans. Maintaining a strong understanding of team capabilities and future needs is essential. You will collaborate with Product and Architecture to shape technical strategy, ensuring high standards in code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation. Active participation in design reviews and architecture discussions will keep you close to the engineering work. Balancing new feature development with technical debt, reliability, security, and platform health will be a key responsibility. The role emphasizes practical AI adoption to enhance developer productivity and software quality, encouraging thoughtful experimentation with emerging AI technologies. You will identify opportunities to embed AI capabilities into both products and internal processes. Remote work is permitted within the UK, offering flexibility while maintaining team cohesion and collaboration.
