Information Security Spec II

The Information Security Spec II position at Bio-Rad is focused on protecting the company's data and cloud environments, particularly within AWS and Azure platforms. The role involves leading high-severity security incident response during non-US business hours and owning the enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program. Responsibilities include designing and managing DLP policies, handling exceptions, implementing controls aligned with legal and regulatory requirements, and maintaining an updated inventory of protected assets in collaboration with Legal. The incumbent conducts cloud security assessments to reduce risk on AWS and Azure systems and supports cloud engineering efforts through automation and secure configuration practices. A key duty is acting as the primary security alert responder for non-US regions, managing complex incidents from start to finish within defined service levels. The role also enhances L2 support efficiency by developing SOPs, escalation playbooks, and automation tools to reduce incident volume. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred. Strong collaboration skills are essential for working with IT infrastructure, application teams, business users, and managed security service providers. This position requires availability to respond to critical incidents outside standard US working hours and involves leading security operations during non-business US time zones.
