IP Lawyer

We are seeking a highly-skilled IP Lawyer to lead the protection and management of our intellectual property assets within the cybersecurity and IT services domain. In this role you will develop and execute an IP strategy that aligns with overall business goals, mapping trademark, patent, copyright, trade secret and software assets across jurisdictions and maintaining annual filing road-maps. You will conduct clearance searches, evaluate potential infringement risks and advise on go/no-go decisions for new product launches and branding initiatives. The lawyer will oversee patent and trademark prosecution, manage renewals, coordinate with examiners and maintain a ready audit docket. Enforcement duties include responding to digital infringements, handling takedowns, oppositions, customs seizures and supporting litigation when required. Drafting and negotiating licensing, technology transfer, distribution, SaaS and outsourcing agreements falls within your remit, as does providing guidance and training to engineering, product, marketing and sales teams on IP use, brand protection, open‑source compliance and risk mitigation. You will engage and manage external counsel, monitor budgets and produce regular reports and dashboards on portfolio performance, risk exposure and key performance indicators such as registration success rates and cost‑benefit outcomes. A Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor and admitted to practice in at least one recognised jurisdiction are required, with a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in IP law, preferably within software or cybersecurity sectors.
