Job Remote24 days ago

The Senior Architect - Technical (WMS) will lead the end-to-end strategy, design, and implementation of Warehouse Management System solutions in a hands-on technical leadership role. This position oversees the full lifecycle of WMS initiatives—from research and architecture through implementation, optimization, and long-term support. The role guides and mentors development teams, manages technical resources, and serves as the senior subject matter expert responsible for configuring, enhancing, and scaling WMS capabilities across the organization. Key duties include leading technical teams in designing, developing, and implementing WMS solutions, integrations, and warehouse automation capabilities, and overseeing delivery across sprints and releases. The architect will coordinate workflows, assign work, and partner with product owners and operations teams to define requirements, technical designs, testing plans, and defect resolution. Integration work will involve linking WMS with ERP/OMS systems, microservices, and IBM MQ messaging, while designing real-time and batch interfaces to ensure accurate inventory visibility and efficient order processing. The role also requires developing and optimizing Azure-based data pipelines using Data Factory and Databricks to support analytics and warehouse insights. Troubleshooting complex WMS and integration issues to minimize operational downtime is essential, as is driving modernization of the current WMS architecture to Azure Kubernetes. The candidate must analyze system KPIs and recommend improvements to enhance warehouse throughput, accuracy, and reliability. Training, documentation, and technical guidance will be provided to teams and warehouse personnel. Required qualifications include 10 years of experience in a lead development role and 15 years of experience in Java, Spring MVC, SQL Server, Git/GitHub, Web Services/API, and SQL. A minimum of 3 years of experience with Websphere, IBM MQ, Drools, and Azure Kubernetes Service is required, along with 5 years of leadership experience as a team builder. The position demands strong project management skills, solid analytical abilities, and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Digital transformation experience is also required. The role is full‑time and can be performed remotely.
