The role focuses exclusively on Windows and macOS desktop environments using Electron, with responsibility for reliability, performance, and real-time collaboration features. Key duties include maintaining cross-platform Electron applications, optimizing startup time and memory usage, implementing native OS integrations (file system, notifications, auto-updates), and ensuring stable local storage management with SQLite/IndexedDB. The engineer will integrate AI-powered features via APIs, debug real-time communication (WebSockets, IPC), and maintain stability across macOS and Windows.
